Anthony Joshua confirmed he will face Floyd Mayweather in May for the WBC’s middleweight crown, but said that he is not averse to fighting him.
“I’d love to fight Mayweather, but I haven’t got a contract yet,” Joshua told the BBC.
“It’s not like I’m not ready.
But I haven’s been waiting for the right opportunity.”
You don’t know what’s going to happen at the time.
It’s a really hard decision.
But we’re just going to have to see what happens.
“In a fight with Mayweather, Joshua will look to win his second consecutive crown.
The unbeaten British boxer won his last title in April when he fought Miguel Cotto in a thrilling clash in Las Vegas.”
He’s one of the greatest fighters of all time, he’s undefeated, he could fight anybody in the world,” Joshua said.”
But I’m just excited to get back out there.
“If I could, I would want to fight Floyd, and he would be the biggest, strongest man I’ve ever met.”
Joshua, 34, has been boxing professionally since 2001.
He holds a record of 18-0, including six knockouts.
He has never won a world title.
